As Major Infrastructure Projects Advance
The Regional Unit of Kalymnos has strengthened its Technical Services Department with the appointment and swearing-in of permanent civil engineer Iakovos Antoniou, a move expected to support the implementation of major infrastructure projects across the islands.
According to an announcement by Kalymnos Regional Governor Emmanuel Mousellis, the new engineer joins the department at a crucial time, as several significant development and public works projects are currently underway throughout the region.
The addition of specialized technical staff is considered essential for the efficient execution of key projects, including the lighting upgrade of the provincial road network, the construction of the new Kalymnos port, the expansion of Agios Antonios port facilities, and extensive maintenance works on road infrastructure across the islands.
Regional authorities emphasize that strengthening the Technical Services Department will improve project planning, supervision, licensing procedures, and the overall implementation of development initiatives benefiting Kalymnos and the neighboring islands.
Mr. Mousellis noted that the growing demand for technical studies, project oversight, permits, and infrastructure management makes it necessary to reinforce public services with qualified professionals capable of meeting the needs of local communities and supporting the region’s development goals.
