Before making decisions on the agenda items, the issue of the shipwrecks committee within the port was brought up outside the agenda. The committee consists of municipal councilors M. Lekelis and S. Koutouzis from the ruling party, and the proposal was approved.
Queries from Opposition Council members & Mayor’s Responses:
- G.Psaras asked about cracks in the Aspa area above the Karypis store.
The Mayor committed to immediately sending the technical department to inspect the issue.
2. G. Mavros raised concerns about the appropriation of municipal and private property.
The Mayor responded that inspections are conducted when specific cases are reported to the Municipality.
3. S. Choulis inquired whether seismic inspections would be carried out on public buildings and if the Municipality planned to demolish hazardous buildings, citing the abandoned building in Agios Nikolaos, which has posed a serious risk for at least a decade.
The Mayor stated that school buildings would be inspected and expressed willingness to proceed with demolitions to prevent accidents.
Additionally, Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Ms. Kalliopi Koutouzi, informed the council that the Municipality of Kalymnos participated in two tourism exhibitions in Milan and Utrecht.
