The Dodecanese MP has approached two ministries, seeking support for those affected, repairs to damaged infrastructure and additional flood protection works.
Dodecanese MP Manos Konsolas has called for the immediate activation of initial state relief for those affected by flooding in Rhodes, alongside emergency funding for the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Rhodes.
In a statement dated October 14, 2026, Konsolas highlighted extensive damage and flooding in Archangelos, Faliraki, Afantou and Rhodes town, as well as landslides and road closures.
Addressing the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, he requested the swift activation of initial financial assistance, following the approach taken after severe weather damage in Crete. According to his statement, a commitment had been made in that case to provide payments within ten days.
Konsolas also urged the Ministry of the Interior to allocate emergency funding to the regional and municipal authorities for additional flood protection projects and repairs to the road network and other infrastructure.
His intervention focuses on immediate financial support for those affected, alongside the restoration of damaged infrastructure and improvements to the island’s flood protection.
