Following the discovery of 142 foreign nationals in the “Grafiotissa” area of Pserimos on November 30, 2025, three individuals—aged 18 and 19 (Azerbaijani nationals) and 31 (Turkish national)—were arrested. They face charges of illegal entry into Greece, trafficking of third-country nationals, participation in a criminal organization, causing a shipwreck, and endangerment, as they were identified by survivors as the traffickers responsible for the group.
According to the rescued migrants, they departed from Bodrum, Turkey, on the morning of November 30, each paying €3,000 to trafficking offices for their transfer to Greece. The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Port Authority of Kalymnos.
The Directorate for Maritime Border Security, in cooperation with the Kalymnos Port Authority, is analyzing all available evidence, investigating the possible expansion of the criminal network’s activities as well as links with other organized groups engaged in similar illicit operations.
