The Municipal Port Fund of Kalymnos informs vessel owners moored at the Port of Pothia, Kalymnos, in Areas 1 and 2, as indicated on the attached map with a red line, that on Monday, 9/2/2026, bathymetric survey works will be carried out for the preparation of a technical study concerning the mapping and lifting of shipwrecks in the Port of Kalymnos.
For the safe and unobstructed execution of the works, all vessel owners located in these areas are kindly requested to remove their vessels in a timely manner, until the completion of the works, which will be carried out within the same day. For temporary mooring, Area 3, as indicated on the map with a green line, may be used, weather conditions permitting.
The cooperation of all is necessary and highly valued, as non-compliance may cause difficulties in the execution of the works and lead to delays. This is a particularly important action, constituting a substantial step toward the funding and implementation of the project for the lifting and removal of shipwrecks, which pose a continuous environmental risk and degradation, occupy vital berthing spaces, and hinder the smooth operation of the port.
