Music, Dance and Culture Under the Aegean Sunset
The Municipality of Kalymnos is launching its “Cultural Summer 2026” program with a vibrant celebration of tradition and island heritage on the picturesque island of Telendos on Saturday, June 20.
Held under the inspiring motto “With Every Sunset, Tradition Rises Again,” the event will begin at 7:00 p.m. and promises an evening filled with live music, traditional dance and cultural expression in one of the Aegean’s most stunning settings.
The musical program will feature the ensemble “Pater Michalis Koukouvas,” while the “Chorogenesis” Dance Group of the Traditional Folklore Association will present traditional Greek dances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Dodecanese islands.
Organizers aim to highlight culture as a unifying force among island communities, emphasizing the importance of preserving local traditions and passing them on to future generations. Against the backdrop of Telendos’ famous sunset, residents and visitors alike are expected to enjoy an evening celebrating music, identity and community spirit.
