Inflation is not “fate” — it is a political choice
Inflation is not a “global phenomenon.” It is the result of deliberate government choices to protect cartels. There is an alternative path: profit caps and immediate reduction of indirect taxes.
At a time when Greek society is bending under the weight of bills and supermarket prices have become unaffordable for the average family, the government has chosen to act as a facilitator of excessive profits.
With half-measures and deliberate impunity, the government is neither fighting poverty nor supporting households, nor protecting citizens from profiteering. Instead, it shields cartels and energy giants.
For the Mitsotakis government, profiteering appears to be a “development model,” while citizens’ survival is treated as a minor detail.
SYRIZA-PS does not remain a passive observer. We do not blame “natural phenomena” or hide behind international developments. We act—through proposals, amendments, and constant parliamentary scrutiny—to challenge a system that exploits society.
