The 85th anniversary of October 28th, 1940 will be commemorated in Kalymnos with events honoring the Greek people’s resistance against fascism and Nazism during WWII.

- Lighting of buildings: Public and banking institutions will be lit during the evenings of Oct 27–28.
Monday, October 27:
- Wreath-laying ceremony at the Central Square by students, scouts, and associations.
- Commemorative event honoring hero Konstantinos Tassas and the WWII destroyer “ADRIAS”, featuring book presentations and tributes.
Tuesday, October 28:
- Official Doxology at the Church of Christ the Savior.
- Parade by schools, scouts, and guides.
- Wreath-laying ceremony at the Central Square.
- Official speech by the son of the WWII hero Georgios Tassas.
- Grand parade with participation from schools, local organizations, and municipal groups.
