Blessing Ceremony Marks New Season for the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Kalymnos on September 19, 2025
On Friday, September 19, 2025, a blessing ceremony was held at the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Kalymnos (LEK) by Father Elias Mouzourakis, officially marking the beginning of the new season for what is considered the island’s most vibrant center of folk culture.
Following the ceremony, LEK President Kalliopi Kassara addressed attendees and reflected on recent accomplishments. Among them was the remarkable cultural event organized to commemorate the anniversary of the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus, which featured the Limassol Folklore Group as special guests.
She also announced an innovative music and movement program designed for preschool-aged children, which will be launched this year at the Pothia KAPI (Open Care Center for the Elderly).
