Former Mayor and current Municipal Councilor of Kalymnos, Dimitris Diakomichalis, announces the conclusion of a 23-year legal ordeal concerning alleged irregularities in church council funding and municipal expenditures between 1997–2002.
Initially charged with a financial liability of €1.729 million, after extensive appeals, the amount was reduced to €44,000.
As the Greek judicial system did not offer full vindication, he now prepares to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
