Educational Seminar on the Protection of Marine Biodiversity in Kalymnos
The Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) organized an educational seminar titled:
“Protection of Marine Megafauna and Detection of Alien Species on Remote Islands of the Dodecanese”,
as part of the Akritika 2025 program.
The event took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Center for Culture, History & Art of the Municipality of Kalymnos.
The aim of the seminar was to inform and raise public awareness about the environmental threats facing the marine fauna of the Dodecanese, with an emphasis on the need to protect large marine organisms and to detect alien (invasive) species.
The project was funded by the Green Fund, under the program “Natural Environment and Climate Resilience 2025 – Outreach Actions”, with a total budget of €15,000.
