Three distinctive concerts, a major tribute to Elvis Presley and educational activities for local students are included in the 10th “Musikós” South Aegean Festival, taking place on Kalymnos from September 24 to 29, 2026.
This year’s events will be hosted at the “Aikaterini Klonari” Open-Air Theatre in Chora, bringing acclaimed musicians and ensembles to the island for a programme spanning European musical traditions, Romanticism, contemporary music and the sounds of America.
The festival opens on Thursday, September 24, at 8:00 p.m., with “From Europe to America,” performed by the Hermann Quartet.
On Saturday, September 26, at 8:00 p.m., the Metallon Brass and Percussion Ensemble of the Athens State Orchestra will present “Cross Over: A Tribute to Elvis Presley.” The ensemble will be joined by tenor Nikolas Maraziotis under the direction of Nikos Chalkias.
The concert programme concludes on Monday, September 28, at 8:30 p.m., with the Ast Quartet presenting “Musical Brushstrokes from Romanticism to the Present Day.”
The festival will also reach out to the younger generation through morning educational activities for Kalymnos students. The Hermann Quartet will lead a session on September 25, followed by activities with the Ast Quartet on September 28 and 29.
Combining live performance, education and cultural outreach, the 10th “Musikós” South Aegean Festival aims to offer another memorable cultural experience for residents and visitors to Kalymnos.
