In the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Kalliopi Koutouzi, on the morning of Saturday, May 24, 2025, the lifeguard observation tower was installed on Masouri Beach.
As the summer season begins, the Municipality of Kalymnos places a high priority on the safety of swimmers. On Saturday, the installation of the elevated lifeguard platform at Masouri Beach was completed, while a 100-meter no-boat zone was marked off with buoys in front of the area to be supervised by the lifeguards.
On Sunday, May 25, a lifeguard observation tower was also installed on the main beach of Pserimos, and the corresponding no-boat zone was defined along the coastline.
The work is being carried out by PASCHNA (Panhellenic School of Lifeguarding), which has been awarded the contract—following a public tender—for lifeguard services at the most popular beaches of Kalymnos, in accordance with the criteria set by the relevant Presidential Decree.
