Dodecanese MP and Chairman of the Hellenic Parliament’s Committee on Regions, Manos Konsolas, launched a strong attack on opposition parties in an article published in the newspaper Political. He argued that governing a country is “a very serious matter” and criticized proposals for free public transportation, claiming they are unrealistic and would ultimately burden taxpayers with significant costs.
Konsolas emphasized that the New Democracy government has successfully managed multiple crises since 2019, while maintaining economic growth, stability, and support measures for citizens. He highlighted tackling inflation and protecting vulnerable households as key government priorities.
The MP also argued that no credible alternative governing proposal currently exists against New Democracy and stressed the importance of political and economic stability through a strong government. He raised questions about whether opposition leaders are capable of handling the country’s challenges and representing Greece effectively in upcoming critical European Union decisions.
