A Guiding Light of the Kalymnian Community
The Kalymnos Branch of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women has expressed its profound sorrow over the passing of Katerina Giannatou, a distinguished figure of the Kalymnian community who devoted herself to culture, tradition and the preservation of ties between Kalymnians living abroad and their homeland.
Upon learning of her death, the Branch’s Board of Directors convened an extraordinary meeting and unanimously adopted a resolution expressing its deep grief over her loss.
The Board extended its sincere and heartfelt condolences to her daughters, Sofia and Savvina, as well as to all her relatives and loved ones.
In lieu of a funeral wreath, the Kalymnos Branch will make a financial contribution to the Kalymnos Theatre Group, honouring Katerina Giannatou’s memory and her valuable contribution to cultural life.
The resolution describes her as an exceptional woman distinguished by integrity, kindness and selfless service. Her love for Kalymnos and her many years of dedicated activity, it notes, will remain an enduring source of inspiration and a shining example to others.
The resolution was signed on behalf of the Board of Directors by President Kalliopi Kassara–Trikoili and General Secretary Maria Kourouni.
May her memory be eternal.
