Manos Konsolas Calls for Realistic Solution to Land Registry Issues in Karpathos and Kasos
Dodecanese MP Manos Konsolas has submitted a parliamentary intervention to the Ministry of Digital Governance, urging immediate action to address operational problems affecting the Land Registry services in Karpathos and Kasos.
Following the suspension of the local Land Registry office in Karpathos as part of digitization and administrative restructuring, residents, lawyers, and engineers are now served by the Land Registry Office of Leros. However, staffing and infrastructure there are insufficient to meet the remote service needs of the two islands.
The lack of daily air or ferry connections between Karpathos, Kasos, and Leros further complicates access, making in-person visits difficult and time-consuming.
Konsolas calls for a realistic solution, proposing either the establishment of a local branch office in Karpathos or the development of a digital platform capable of providing immediate, real-time service for land registry matters to residents of both islands.
