Municipal Council Meeting 28-1-2025 Decisions

A public regular mixed meeting of the Municipal Council was held in the Municipal Hall’s conference room in person and simultaneously via teleconference on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM, to make decisions on the attached agenda items.

The issue of shipwrecks outside the harbor was discussed. A committee was formed to address the matter, with Michalis Lelekis as the regular member and Stamatis Koutouzis as the alternate. The Mayor announced that on February 2, 2025, a tender will be held for removing the “Blue Shark” by the Kalymnos Port Authority.

1. Changes in Secondary Vocational Education Schools for the 2025-2026 School Year
   ✅ Approved: The establishment of a new Evening EPAL Kalymnos department specializing in Refrigeration, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Installations (Mechanical Engineering sector).
2. Granting Free Use of the Upper Floor of the Spiritual Center to the Kalymnos Reading Room “AI MOUSAI”
   ✅ Approved
3. Review of a Request to Purchase Property in Vathy, Kalymnos (Owned by Poullas Skevos)
   ✅ Approved: A feasibility study will be conducted.
4. Approval of Leasing the Canteen of the 2nd Primary School of Kalymnos
   ✅ Approved: A tender announcement will be made.
5. Approval of Leasing a Kiosk Spot in Chora, Kalymnos Decision postponed.
6. Review of a Request for Free Use of a Municipal Property for Temporary Homeless Shelter
   ✅ Approved. Present & voting: G. Mavros, P. Mavrou, G. Magkakis. Abstention: Efthymios Makarounas.
7. Road Marking and Installation of a No-Parking Sign on a Side Street of Kalymnos’ Main Commercial Road
   ✅ Approved
8. Implementation of an Olive Fruit Fly Control Program in the Municipality of Kalymnos for 2025
   ✅ Approved
9. Amendment of the Sports Facilities Operating Regulations – Article 4: “Days & Hours of Operation”
   ✅ Approved: Indoor sports facility hours extended by one hour until 11:00 PM.
10. Formation of Committees for Monitoring & Receiving Supplies & Services for Municipal Units in 2025
    ✅ Approved: Renewal of the 2024 committee’s term for 2025.
11. Formation of an Evaluation Committee for the Sale, Lease, or Purchase of Municipal Properties (Article 7, PD 270/81) for 2025
    ✅ Approved: Renewal of the 2024 committee’s term for 2025.
12. Setting the Maximum Monthly Allowable Mobile Phone Call Limits for Elected Municipal Officials in 2025
    ✅ Approved
13. Decision on Budget Code Classification for Municipal Expenses in 2025 as Eligible for Prepayment Orders
    ✅ Approved
