The Municipality of Kalymnians has become the first in Greece to implement organized security services at the island’s main port of international entry and exit, aiming to enhance safety and supervision within the port area.
The initiative seeks to improve passenger and visitor safety, ensure the smooth operation of port activities, and prevent unlawful incidents, especially during the peak tourist season. As the primary gateway connecting Kalymnos with mainland Greece and the Dodecanese islands, the port handles significant daily passenger and commercial traffic.
According to municipal authorities, the presence of trained security personnel strengthens the sense of safety for residents and visitors while upgrading Kalymnos’ image as a modern and well-organized destination. The measure forms part of a broader strategy to enhance infrastructure and public services across the island.
