The remote island of Pserimos regains a doctor, as the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Thanasis Davakis, has announced the appointment of a military conscript doctor, medical graduate, to cover the island’s healthcare needs.
Mr. Davakis stated:
“The Armed Forces consistently stand by society, ready to offer assistance wherever and whenever needed. Through targeted initiatives, we continue to actively support the public healthcare system, ensuring that every citizen – especially those living on our islands, like Pserimos – has access to public medical and pharmaceutical care.”
This decision brings much-needed support to the residents of Pserimos, reinforcing both their sense of safety and the ongoing presence of the state in Greece’s remote island communities.
