The tendering process for the project “Lighting of the Provincial Road Network of Kalymnos Island” has been completed, marking the final stage before implementation of a major infrastructure project. With a total budget of €4 million, the project covers approximately 19 km of roads, specifically the sections Pothia–Vathy and Armeos–Emporios, and includes the installation of modern LED lighting, underground electrical networks, safety barriers, road signage, and additional road safety measures.
The announcement by Regional Governor Giorgos Chatzimarkos highlights the strong cooperation between the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Kalymnos. Mayor Giannis Mastrokoukos emphasized that the project fulfills prior commitments and reflects a meaningful and effective partnership aimed at improving road safety, energy efficiency, and overall functionality of Kalymnos’ road network.
