Underground Power Lines: Transforming Daily Life and Quality of Life in Kalymnos
The crews of HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator), in continuous cooperation with the Municipality of Kalymnos, are intensively carrying out the underground installation of power lines. The previously unacceptable and dangerous situation with overhead cables—causing persistent problems and posing serious public safety risks—will soon be a thing of the past.
The Municipal Authority is in daily contact with HEDNO and its crews, regularly inspecting the works along the road network and helping to minimize any disruptions to traffic flow.
The modernization of the electricity distribution network will greatly reduce power outages and, more importantly, eliminate the unsightly and highly hazardous presence of overhead wires.
