On the busy beach of Pothia town, Kasónia, one of our readers noticed this peculiar scene and sent us the above photograph. In front of the brand-new beach changing cabin, there is a rusty old bench that undermines the effort to upgrade the beach. The bent bench could be removed.
We acknowledge that the Deputy Mayor for Everyday Affairs is making efforts to improve the island’s beaches, and this is a positive step in the right direction.
Before the installation crews leave the area, it would be a good idea for them to take such eyesores with them. A bench is certainly needed there, and we hope it will be replaced soon.
