The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) has officially announced the opening of applications for inclusion in the Register of External Statistical Associates for the period May – December 2026, inviting interested individuals across Greece to participate in the statistical surveys conducted by the Authority.
According to the announcement, applications must be submitted exclusively online from May 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. until May 20, 2026, at midnight, either through the ELSTAT website or via the gov.gr digital platform.
Eligible applicants are individuals aged between 18 and 67 years old who have at least completed secondary education or hold a Greek language proficiency certificate at B2 level.
ELSTAT clarifies that public sector employees, local government staff, military personnel serving compulsory service, and individuals excluded from previous external associate registers are not eligible to apply.
External associates are responsible for collecting statistical data through personal interviews with households and businesses, as well as electronically recording information where required. ELSTAT notes that the cooperation is based on project contracts and does not constitute an employment relationship with the Authority.
Applicants are also expected to possess good computer and tablet skills, communication abilities, and the capacity to travel for fieldwork purposes. Selected associates will be required to attend a mandatory training seminar organized by ELSTAT before beginning their assignments.
The announcement additionally includes important notes for unemployed individuals, pensioners, and public employees regarding possible effects on benefits, pensions, or employment status.
For further information, interested individuals may contact ELSTAT’s Department of External Associates and Researchers via email or telephone.
