Tourism Promotion, Municipal Choirs and the Bust of Ioannis Halikos on the Municipal Council Agenda
A regular public hybrid session of the Kalymnos Municipal Council will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at the Municipal Hall, with members participating both in person and via teleconference.
The Council is expected to discuss and make decisions on a wide range of issues affecting local administration, development, culture, public safety, and municipal services.

- Approval of the 3rd amendment to the 2026 budget of the Kalymnos Municipal Port Fund.
- Review of the Municipality’s tourism promotion activities for 2025 and planning of tourism promotion actions for 2026.
- Approval of amendments to the regulations governing the use of music and musical instruments in businesses of public health interest.
- Approval of the Operating Regulations for the Municipality of Kalymnos Sports Facilities.
- Approval of the installation of a video surveillance system at the Kalymnos landfill site (Giannochorafa area) for the protection of public safety, the environment, municipal employees, and citizens.
- Examination of a contractor’s request for an extension of the completion deadline for the project “Repair and Maintenance of School Buildings in Kalymnos.”
- Decision on the construction of a bust honoring the late Ioannis Halikos and its placement outside the “Halikeio” building at Kalymnos Hospital.
- Establishment of a Municipal Mixed Choir for Adults, as well as a Children’s and Youth Choir of the Municipality of Kalymnos.
- Extension of the lease of the municipal property housing the pharmacy on the ground floor of the Municipal Hall until December 31, 2026, following changes to the company’s legal status and trade name.
- Approval of the lease of a property for the temporary storage, collection, and management of items occupying public spaces.
- Allocation of space in the Kalymnos Municipal Market for the sale of handmade candles by a local entrepreneur.
- Appointment of municipal representatives to participate in the Advisory Committees for Hiking and Mountaineering Activities under the jurisdiction of the Dodecanese Forestry Directorate.
- Approval of the committee report concerning the destruction of items deemed to have no value, pursuant to Article 199(6) of Law 3463/2006.
- Approval of a second committee report concerning the destruction of valueless items, pursuant to Article 199(6) of Law 3463/2006.
The meeting is expected to address several issues of significant local interest, particularly those related to tourism development, cultural initiatives, environmental protection, municipal infrastructure, and public services.
